Resetting Your Phone
Only perform these steps if instructed to do so!
Most of our phones can be factory reset and reprogrammed in the field if should there be any issues. If you are instructed to do this, please follow the steps below. The process should take less than a minute, and then the phone will take 3-5 minutes to fully reprogram itself. Please scroll down to the correct model of phone below. Phone models can be found on the top right of the front screen of the phone.
Cisco SPAxxx (except Cisco SPA525G2)
- Go to the phone
- Hit the setup button (the one beneath the voicemail button)
- Press 14
- It will ask to confirm that you want to factory reset
- Press “OK”
It will take the phone about a minute to factory reset and restart. When it has completed get the IP address of the phone by performing the following steps:
- Go to the phone
- Hit the setup button (the one beneath the voicemail button)
- Press 9
- Look at option 2 (Current IP) and make a note of it
- Press “cancel” twice
Click the “Initiate Reset” button below and enter the IP address you got from step 4 above. Then click the “Go” button and our system will take it from there. Your phone may reboot a couple of times to fully download firmware updates and programming changes, and then be up and running about five minutes after that.
Cisco SPA525G2
- Go to the phone
- Hit the setup button (the one beneath the voicemail button)
- The Information and Settings menu appears
- Use the navigation keys and scroll down to Device Administration. Press the Select softkey
- In the Device Administration page, scroll down to Factory Reset option and press the Select key to factory reset the IP Phone
- In the Factory Reset page, press OK soft key to confirm the factory reset
- Once the phone has rebooted, go back to setup, and use the navigation keys to select Status. Press the Select softkey
- Select Network Status. Press the Select softkey
- Look for IP Address
Click the “Initiate Reset” button below and enter the IP address you got from step 9 above. Then click the “Go” button and our system will take it from there. Your phone may reboot a couple of times to fully download firmware updates and programming changes, and then be up and running about five minutes after that.
